Robert Curley, President and
Lauretta Chrys, VP Marketing

Charter One Bank of New York/New England

Mr. Curley is the Division President of Charter One Bank for New York and New England. Prior to joining Charter One in 1999, he served as Vice Chairman of Key Bank, where he had previously been President for four different banks within that organization.

The two discussed general banking industry issues and consumer marketing strategies. They also provided insight into the plans and programs of Upstate New York?s fastest growing retail bank.

Jerry Golub,
Vice President Marketing
Price Chopper Supermarkets

Mr. Golub currently holds the position of Vice President, Marketing for Price Chopper Supermarkets/The Golub Corporation. In this capacity, he is responsible for the Marketing, Consumer Services and Market Research areas of the 102-store chain. He is also responsible for its Continuous Improvement Initiative and The Golub Foundation.

Mr. Golub has also held the positions of Vice President, Administrative and Strategic Planning and Vice President. Corporate Controller and Treasurer.

Mr. Golub gave a detailed overview of the Price Chopper chain, as well as its highly promotional, newspaper/media.

Diane Lustenader,
President
Lake Associates

Ms. Lustenader is President of Lake Associates, Inc., a human resources consulting firm she founded in January 1994. Previously, she held the top HR position for the Americas for Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. in Chicago. She is also President of CRHRA and the instructor of the SHRM Learning System PHP/SPHR preparation course at The College of St. Rose is Albany.

Ms. Lustenader spoke on recruitment, based on her experience with Lake Associates, which provides generalist human resource services, with an emphasis on compensation, compliance, affirmative action, training, workplace investigations, and HR measurement.

Doug Savidge,
Senior Vice President, Marketing/ Chief Marketing Officer
Capital District Physicians' Health Plan, Inc.

Mr. Savidge is senior vice president and chief marketing officer of CDPHP. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing the company's sales and marketing divisions, including corporate communications. He is also the general manager of Universal Benefits, Inc. Mr. Savidge has more than 17 years experience in the health care industry. He has served in a number of capacities in the managed care industry including marketing, sales, development, government programs, product development, plan operations, provider networks and alternate delivery systems.

Mr. Savidge talked about the new standards being applied to measuring the value of advertising expenditures in the health insurance industry and how this will impact media expenditures in the future.

Elmer Streeter,
Vice President Corporate Communications
St. Peter?s Health Care Services.

Mr. Streeter discussed how newspapers can generate non-traditional revenue through community relations and service programs. Under his leadership, St. Peter?s has reinvented their image by creating brand-related programs with local newspaper and television partners. He outlined guidelines and opportunities for local newspapers to develop similar relations with providers in their communities.

David White,
Publisher
Times Union, Albany

Mr. White is a 42-year veteran of the newspaper industry, working in several roles, including many management positions. After serving as Advertising Director at the Times Union for ten years, Mr. White became its publisher. He serves on the newspaper's Executive Committee and is the Immediate Past-Chairman of the New York Newspaper Publishers Association.

Mr. White spoke about First Amendment and Freedom of Information issues currently facing the newspaper industry. He discussed the significant role of newspaper employees to our communities, our nation, and our freedoms and liberties.
