NYNAME
History and Mission:
NYNAME
can trace its roots back to 1922 when the Advertising Managers
Bureau of the New York State Dailies was formed. This was one
year after the founding of the New York State Publishers Association.
For sixty-three years, the New York State Dailies Advertising
Managers Bureau as it was known, held yearly meetings, training
sessions, and an annual conference. Like all organizations that
evolve and grow, so too did the Advertising Managers Bureau. On
June 6, 1985, at the annual Spring Conference, the membership
voted to change the name to the New York Newspaper Advertising
and Marketing Executives Association. On October 8, 1985, NYNAME
became an official incorporated not for profit in the state of
New York.
The mission
of NYNAME encompasses all aspects of newspaper advertising including
the training and professional development of newspaper advertising
personnel, and to advance newspaper advertising to business community.
